How the Sands Have Shifted: Reflections on 9/11 as a Chapter in U.S.-Gulf Relations

In this piece for the 9/11 Legacies and the Global War on Terror project helmed by Ameem Lufti (also my former colleague at MEI) and Kevin Schwartz, I reflected upon how the rhetoric on terrorism (as a threat) has changed, but also how the Gulf states should reorganize their own priorities according to what is usually termed “sovereign decisions.”

This piece is now part of an e-book sponsored by the Oriental Institute, Czech Academy of Sciences Prague.
