In this Brief for the Institute of Strategic Research at the French Military Academy (IRSEM), I provide an examination of the latest political developments in Kuwait. This analysis is based on my observations and conversations during my recent trips to the country, where I was also an invited international observer for the June 2023 parliamentary elections.
The piece dives into the cabinet appointments and the opening session of the National Assembly, during which the Crown Prince gave his inaugural address. These are important signals of the political path ahead and, more importantly, whether Kuwait can break free from the longstanding cabinet-parliament deadlock.
